Queer As Folk Season 2 continues the story about the lives of a group of gay men and lesbians living in Pittsburgh, focusing on their relationships, careers, loves and ambitions. The series is a realistic, funny and sometimes graphic portrayal of a minority community living in present-day society that mainstream viewers have never seen before in U.S. television/cable programming.

Brian Kinney (Gale Harold) is the sexual animal, who must always choose between his lover or a trick for the night. He enjoys sex and can easily find it anywhere. Michael Novotny (Hal Sparks) is his best friend, who epitomized the boy next door. He loves comic books and Brian, although he won't admit it.

Justin Taylor (Randy Harrison) is the 18-year-old high school graduate beginning his new life at a local yet respected and established art school. Justin is also the boyfriend/lover of Brian. Emmett Honeycutt (Peter Paige) is the most flamboyant of his friends owning the most colorful outfits ad most carefree attitude. Emmett wears his gayness with pride.

Ted Schmidt (Scott Lowell) is an accountant with a taste for porn who finds that work and porn don't always mix, until he finds a way to bridge these two worlds together. Debbie Novotny (Sharon Gless) is Michael Novotny's eccentric mother - vehemently proud of her gay son. Lindsay Peterson (Thea Gill), and art teacher and Melanie Marcus (Michelle Clunie), a lawyer, are a loving lesbian couple who have a one-year old child (fathered by Brian). In Season Two, Lindsay and Melanie's relationship is put to the test in more arenas than they could ever imagine.
