Masterbeat's mainstream series, "The Club" has always had a greatest-hits feel with lots of massive, if not exactly new, anthems that widens the appeal of this mix. Masterbeat certainly is trying to maximize that widespread appeal with text on the back cover that says this collection features "non-stop club music that's perfect for the gym, the office, driving, biking, boarding, relaxing... basically everywhere." We can't help but get images of a bunch of lawyers in suits blasting this CD in "the office" or a truck driver blasting this while "driving" his big rig, or a middle-aged housewife putting this on while getting a "relaxing" massage, based on the cover suggestion. Not quite!

That's not to say we don't think this is an excellent collection that is perfect to psyche you up for the big party with tunes you should already know and love. Many of the tracks are in their sought-after remix form that sounds so good in this mix.

One somewhat humorous gripe... the cover booklet shows a graphic of a guy at the gym supposedly listening to this collection on his iPod, yet we hear the disc is copy-protected, so you actually couldn't easily rip this to an MP3 player. Oops, not the best choice of a graphic for this collection!
